Black Caviar Wins 2011 William Reid Stakes

March 25th, 2011

Black Caviar has done exactly what the world always knew she would, winning the 2011 William Reid Stakes in race 7 at Moonee Valley tonight March 25, 2011.

The unbelievably talented four-year-old looked to be in trouble after jumping awkwardly and settling wide and well off the lead in the early stages of the race.

However, the Bel Esprit mare didn’t bat an eyelid and surged to an easy lead ahead of early leader Crystal Lily at the home turn.

Black Caviar was eased up on the line in her usual style and passed the post two lengths ahead of Crystal Lily, who finished ahead of Peter Moody’s other runner Hinchinbrook, who finished third.

Black Caviar will now contend the Group 1 T.J. Smith Stakes at Randwick Racecourse on April 9, 2011, according to trainer Peter Moody.

Black Caviar was paying odds of $1.10 at Luxbet in the 2011 William Reid Stakes, once again starting at unbelievably short odds.

The super mare of horse racing has now won 11 races in a row whilst remaining unbeaten and is on track to win her 12th when she lines up in the  $500,000 T.J Smith next month.
