Rebel Dane produced several impressive results without being able to return to the winner’s circle in 2014, and has been confirmed for a racing return in the 2015 William Reid Stakes final field.

A Group 1 winner having taken out the 2013 edition of the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m), Rebel Dane returned in 2014 in impressive fashion; running a close second to Lankan Rupee in the Group 1 T.J. Smith Stakes (1200m) first-up before a luckless run for fifth in the Group 1 All Aged Stakes (1400m).

Returning in spring for consecutive third place finishes in the Group 2 Missile Stakes (1200m) and Group 1 Moir Stakes (1200m) before running a close fourth in a fanning finish in the Group 1 Manikato Stakes (1200m), Rebel Dane will be partnered by leading jockey Craig Williams on Friday night.

Talented filly Earthquake has been confirmed to be partnered by in-form hoop Tommy Berry, will leave from the ideal barrier 3 and has been charged with carrying just 54kgs in the 2015 William Reid Stakes.

Arguably the standout two-year-old of the 2014 autumn, Earthquake won each of her first four competitive starts including the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) and Group 2 Reisling Stakes (1200m) before finishing a close second in the Group 1 Golden Slipper (1200m).

While unable to reach the same highs over four spring starts whilst still posting several commendable results, the daughter of Exceed And Excel ran a close second in the Listed MSS Security Stakes (1100m) last time out and appears primed for a return to the winner’s circle on Friday night.

Classy mare Vain Queen returned to racing for a credible fourth in the Group 1 Oakleigh Plate (1100m) in late February and is sure to take valuable condition from the run when lining up in gate 9 in the 2015 William Reid Stakes.

Posting seven race wins over her 13 career starts to date; the Artie Schiller mare was a standout performer for John Saddler over the 2014 Spring Carnival and ended her campaign in the best way possible when victorious in the Group 3 Mumm Stakes (1100m) on Crown Oaks Day.

Peron will leave from the rails draw in the 2015 William Reid Stakes, while the resuming Fontelina has been charged with overcoming the wide and awkward gate 14. is currently offering the best 2015 William Reid Stakes odds!
